Globalist John McCain taking us to the Left

I will applaud Senator McCain’s efforts to want to “repair” America’s image abroad and to work more closely with our allies. But, I am distressed that he wants to not lead our “allies,” but cater to them .

He seems to already be doing this on global warming. Even his own website touts the fact that John McCain has “been a leader on global warming” and says this is “an issue we can no longer afford to ignore.” Thank you, Al Gore, … uh, I mean, John McCain.

There is more evidence out there that man-made global warming is a hoax. “If” global warming is happening, well, duh. For billions of years, the earth has had cooling trends and warming trends. We might be in a warming trend, but we’re not even sure of that. Just 30 years ago, many scientists were warning of “global cooling.” If we’re going to work with our allies on this, why not the Czech Republic? Their President, Vaclav Klaus, recently gave a speech in New York City about global warming alarmism.

McCain also wants to shut down our base at Guantanamo Bay and remove our enemy combatives from there (to where? U.S. soil?). This would potentially give the enemies we have captured on the battlefield Constitutional rights if they were to be on U.S. soil. From a conservative standpoint, I know this is a debatable question of whether we should be engaging in this action to begin with. But, so far, its working. If we are investing billions of dollars and thousands of lives to fight a “war on terrorism,” why would we stop that by shutting down one of the most effective elements of that war? And why would a Presidential candidate state to our enemies that they won’t have to be subjected to a particular kind of “torture” – even in an emergency situation? He has removed all forms of “torture” (and this is a loose term) from even being explored. Jack Bauer wouldn’t be allowed to save us.

On many things, John McCain doesn’t sound much different than the Democrats. Sure, he wants to prosecute the war against Islamic fascism – but how? Sure, he won’t raise our taxes or spend as much as the Democrats. But, he still wants to sign global treaties, which in the end will reduce America’s sovereignty. And oh yea… then there’s the whole immigration debate.

What is a conservative to do? The choices before us don’t seem appetizing.
